You don't have to be an athlete to get "jock itch." The condition is caused by a fungus that is aggravated by friction and sweat.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Keep your genital area clean. Shower after workouts.
Step2
Dry your genital area thoroughly after showering or bathing.
Step3
Dab talcum powder around your genital area, and where your leg folds meet your groin. Avoid powders containing cornstarch.
Step4
Change your underwear frequently. Even if you wear 100 percent cotton underpants, sweat causes a buildup of moisture, which collects against your skin.
Step5
Avoid swimming trunks with elasticized liners. The elastic bands in the liners can cause chafing and irritation. Avoid nylon underwear.
Step6
Remove wet bathing suits as soon as possible.
Step7
Wear loose-fitting pants and underwear.
Step8
Sleep naked. Let your genital area air out.
Step9
Maintain a healthy body weight. Heavier people suffer more with perspiration buildup in their groin area than people of lower body weight.
