How to Remove a Washing Machine Agitator

Sometimes the agitator will get broken or crack. It's important to replace it promptly or you will find tears and rips in your clothes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• Hammers
• Wood Blocks

1. Unscrew the agitator cap.
2. Pull up on the agitator.
3. Fill the tub halfway with hot water if it won't come loose. Sometimes the heat helps release it.
4. Tap on a small block of wood pressed up against the top of the agitator if it still won't release.
5. Replace the old one with a new agitator of the same model.
