Boston Logan International Airport is one of the most delay-prone airports in the United States. However, a wide variety of specialty shops and restaurants within its five terminals can help travelers remain sane.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    For Adults

  1. Step 1

Figure out how much free time you have. Check to see if your flight is late and whether it will arrive or depart in Terminal A, B, C, D or E.

  2. Step 2

Walk through the terminals and the central parking garage to view sculptures, paintings and mosaics created by regional artists.

  3. Step 3

Treat yourself to a hair styling or manicure at the Classique Hair and Nail Salon in Terminal C.

  4. Step 4

Consider eating at one of the Cheers Bar & Grill eateries located in Terminals A and B. Its drinks are named after the characters in the "Cheers" TV show, which took place in Boston. Other dining possibilities include seafood, Italian and microbrewery restaurants in Terminals B, C and E, and fast-food eateries in all the terminals.

  5. Step 5

Shop at Boston Landing in Terminal C. Twenty-three specialty shops offer a wide variety of gifts, clothing, gourmet food and locally produced items.

  6. For Kids

  7. Step 1

Keep young kids happily occupied at the Kidports in Terminals A and C, which feature hands-on exhibits, a play area and an educational toy store designed by the Children's Museum of Boston.

  8. Step 2

Pick eateries that serve foods appealing to young travelers. Burgers and pizza can be found in Terminal A and other terminals, whereas a wider variety of restaurants and snack bars are located in Terminal C.

  9. Step 3

Go to the women's restrooms in Terminal C if you need to use an infant changing table.

Tips & Warnings
  • You must check in at your gate at least an hour before your flight, or longer on international flights. Check with your airline.
  • Keep in mind that many airlines have new carry-on restrictions and that you may have to check larger purchases or have them shipped.
