Seattle/Tacoma International Airport (Sea/Tac) is a hub for millions of travelers from Asia, the Pacific Islands and North America. During flight delays or between flights, passengers can pass the time at Sea/Tac by relaxing in a variety of ways.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    For the Adults

  1. Step 1

Figure out how much free time you will have. Check to see whether your flight is late and whether it will arrive/depart in the main terminal's Concourse A, B, C or D, in the North Satellite Terminal or in the South Satellite Terminal.

  2. Step 2

Take a slow walk through the terminals and concourses for a look at the airport's art exhibits. A few dozen sculptures, paintings, carvings and photographs are displayed, representing the different cultures of the Northwest.

  3. Step 3

Pamper yourself at Hairlines, which offers unisex hair styling and manicures in the main terminal at the ticketing level.

  4. Step 4

Pick a lounge at any of the three terminals that offer ESPN viewing along with your food and drinks, or munch at other eateries, such as snack shops, fast-food restaurants and fine-dining establishments.

  5. Step 5

Shop for a variety of gifts, including Northwest specialty items. You may have to check in or mail larger purchases (see Warnings, below).

  6. Step 6

Reflect in the Meditation Room of the main terminal.

  7. For the Kids

  8. Step 1

Cater to your kids' interests if they are with you to keep them from getting cranky and to tire them out before your flight.

  9. Step 2

Avail yourself of the Family Accommodations Nursery near Concourse B, ticketing level. The facility gives mothers, infants and small children a place to relax and play.

  10. Step 3

Take the kids to any of the terminal eateries that offer a casual dining atmosphere.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are departing on a flight, you must check in at your gate at least an hour before the flight, longer on international flights. Check with your airline.
  • Keep in mind that many airlines have new carry-on restrictions and that you may have to check-in larger purchases or have them shipped.
