It takes only a few steps to program a Zenith Universal Remote Control, but it often proves more difficult than it would appear from the simple instructions! Despite the hassle in getting the codes right, you'll be rewarded when you can eliminate several remotes in favor of a universal one.

on 4/3/2006 To identify what code number is currently programmed in your remote:
1. Hold Code Search button 3 seconds until it stays lit.
2. Press mode button (VCR, TV, etc)
3. Press but don't hold Code Search button.
4. Find the first digit: press the number keys in order (1,2,3,4...) until indicator light flashes. The last number pressed is the first digit - write it down.
5. Again press the number keys in order until light flashes for the second digit. Repeat this again for the third digit.

on 6/11/2007 The Zenith manual lists Orion as code 105, but it turned out to be 115 to
get my Orion 1324 to work. I had to try the code search technique several times before finding it by using channel up instead of the power button.
