Gone are the days of running in bulky sweats, and people don't even buy traditional running suits anymore. High-tech materials that are breathable and wick away moisture are what you want today.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Remember layering, such as a turtleneck shirt covered by a jacket. It's the key to successful dressing.

  2. Step 2

Wear breathable material next to the skin. This will wick away the moisture from perspiration.

  3. Step 3

Go for a running-specific jacket - lightweight polyester, for example - and various pairs of running tights with different thicknesses.

  4. Step 4

Look for clothing made from performance fabrics (such as Supplex, Lycra or Polar Fleece), perhaps with a little cotton.

  5. Step 5

Go for heavy-duty materials, such as Polar Fleece, for the extremes.

  6. Step 6

Check out special socks made from performance material. Thermax is good for winter.

  7. Step 7

Remember hats and gloves. The majority of the body's heat loss is through the head. Headbands, ski hats and gloves are also made from performance fabrics.
