Surprise that special little girl with a Barbie that looks like her, shares her name and has her personality. This gift is sure to be a hit for a real little girl or the little girl inside a big girl!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Decide who the Barbie is for. Is it for yourself, a friend or a special little girl?
Step2
Look at the recipient and observe hair, eye, lip and skin color, and hairstyle.
Step3
Think about what kinds of clothes the person wears or would like a Barbie to have. Some girls would enjoy a Barbie in formal wear, while others might prefer a more casual look.
Step4
Go to "My Design Barbie" in the products list below. This will take you to the site where you can order a custom doll.
Step5
Choose the doll's eye, skin, lip and hair color, and hairstyle from the options listed. Try to match the person you have in mind as closely as possible.
Step6
Select the doll's outfit from the assortment shown. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to choose accessories that will go with the outfit.
Step7
Indicate if the doll is for a birthday, holiday or any occasion and then fill in the blanks on the screen that will customize the doll's name and personality for the occasion and person you are giving it to.
Step8
Send in your order and pay the $39.95 plus shipping and handling.
Step9
Try to be patient until she arrives!

Tips & Warnings

  • It is possible to customize a doll yourself. Buy a doll that looks like the person you have in mind or take an existing doll and reroot the hair. Buy or sew outfits that are appropriate for the recipient. This type of customization may prove less expensive, but might not be as accurate.

on 6/6/2008 Some time ago (year) I bought one of these doll with the person's name and other relevent information and want to get another for another friend.
What happened? Where are they and the My Design Barbie IS NOT anywhere on this page! Have they stopped doing this or what? I really would like to find a way to get on with my girls name on it and have it look like her.
