Step 1
Put a few drops of food coloring and 2 c. water into a saucepan with 2 tbsp. vegetable oil.

Step 2
Mix 2 c. flour with 1 c. salt and 4 tsp. cream of tartar. Add this to the liquid in the saucepan and cook over medium heat until the mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan and starts looking doughy.

Step 3
Take it out and knead it until it's smooth.

Keep this dough in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
