DIY Rolled Burlap Rosettes
Sew rolled burlap rosettes onto accessories to make them look more beautiful and personalized. You can find fabric rosettes from craft stores, but creating them yourself using burlap fabric found around the house or purchased from a hardware store is more cost-efficient. It's also an entertaining craft project for a rainy day.

1
Use a measuring tape to measure a rectangle from burlap fabric that is 6 inches wide and 18 inches long. Cut out the rectangle with scissors.
-
2
Fold the rectangle in half width-wise, and line up the edges. Pin along the long edges using straight pins, then sew them together with a needle and thread. Remove the straight pins.
-
-
3
Baste along the sewn edge, making each basting stitch 1/2 inch long. Pull the basting slightly to make the edge gathered, then knot the thread onto the end of the form.
-
4
Roll the gathered rectangle into a spiral, rolling the spiral tighter at the start, then more loosely as you reach the end.
-
5
Tuck the end of the rectangle under by 1/4 inch, and sew the end onto the rest of the burlap rosette to secure the rosette in place.
