It might be your ex-boyfriend's tee, or a band shirt that you had to have, even though it's three sizes too big. Wherever it came from, you can transform a guy's oversized shirt into a tee tailored for girls. You don't need a needle and thread to make these alterations. Instead, just pick up a pair of scissors and begin snipping. With just a few cuts, you can change a guy's shirt into a form-fitting tee that's tied up the sides or into a retro off-the-shoulder scoop neck shirt that any woman would be proud to wear.

Tied Sides

Lay the shirt on a flat surface.

Cut off the arms of the shirt, snipping away the material including sleeves' seams.

Cut directly up the side of each shirt until you reach the sleeve holes.

Smooth out both sides of the shirt so that they're evenly on top of each other. Pin them in place along the bottom and top of the shirt to hold it in place.

Snip horizontal slits into the sides of the shirt, cutting through both layers of the material at once. These cuts should be 2 or 3 inches long. Make the cuts all the way up both sides of the shirt until you reach the arm holes. Remove the pins.

Put on the shirt. Tie the strips of fabric together, connecting the front and back pieces of the shirt. Connect all the strips on both sides of the tee to make a feminine form-fitting shirt.

Off the Shoulder

Lay the shirt on a flat surface.

Cut the sleeves above the bottom seam to shorten them and make them more feminine.

Use chalk to draw a semicircle from shoulder to shoulder on the front of the shirt that's about 1 or 2 inches lower than the original collar. Do the same on the back of the shirt.

Cut along the chalk line to create a scoop neck that can be worn off the shoulder. Try on the shirt to see how it looks. Snip away more of the fabric if you want a larger scoop neck.
