  • Crochet hook, size 11 or 12
  • Sweater
  • Straight pin
  • Fray Check

Instructions

      Locate the snag on the front of the sweater. Mark the snag with a straight pin.

      Turn the sweater inside-out. Insert the crochet hook through the wrong side of the sweater to the front of the sweater in the exact location of the snag.

      Gently grab the snagged sweater thread with the crochet hook and pull it through to the wrong side of the sweater. Once the thread is on the wrong side, pull gently it to completely get the thread to the wrong side of the sweater.

      Weave the thread through the wrong side of the sweater to prevent further snags. Use the crochet hook to pull the snagged thread in and out of the stitches on the wrong side of the sweater. Continue until the snag is completely enclosed in the sweater's material. Long snags can be woven in the same manner with a darning needle. Apply Fray Check to the wrong side of the sweater where the snag occurred. Allow it to dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the smallest crochet hook available to make the repair invisible.

  • Do not pull too hard on the snagged thread as you can unravel the sweater and create a hole.
