How to Create a Repackaging Area in a Warehouse
Companies repackage products for customers and bulk retail sellers. This repackaging may be done for several reasons. Workers may take a package and combine it with other similar products to offer it to customers. Or workers break down large product shipments into smaller packages for sale. A company may also engage in repackaging to meet certain new standards, such as relabeling the product so that it has the necessary consumer information. A company must provide required space for its repackaging operation.

-
2
Install a sanitation area with proper ventilation for a repackaging area if workers will handle produce or other materials, such as repackaging medical waste and cleaning containers for further use. The sanitation area should have a hand sink or three-compartment sink.

Equip the repackaging area with all the necessary materials. Supply packaging materials -- such as plastic wrap and required package labels -- to repackage products by hand, or install the necessary automatic packaging equipment. If repackaging bulk products for retail warehouse clubs, provide forklifts and shipping pallets to move the repackaged bulk products onto the delivery trucks.
