How to Upload Church Messages to iTunes

Apple's iTunes store allows you to upload your own audio messages in the form of podcasts, which are lengths of recorded audio that can be about anything, including discussions, tutorials and homework help. You can record and upload your church's sermons as podcasts for both church members and distant listeners to download free.

Instructions

    • 1

Record your church's sermon using a digital recorder, which is similar to a tape recorder except that it records audio to an easily-transferable digital file. Place the recorder in a location that is close to the speaker or pastor, such as on the pulpit. Press the "Record" button when the service starts, then press the "Stop" button when it is finished.

Connect the digital recorder to a computer using its data cable. The device may open automatically; otherwise, click "Start," then "Computer" and double-click the recorder's icon under "Removable Devices." Click and drag the audio file from the recorder to your desktop. Unplug the recorder to preserve battery life.

Download and install iTunes (itunes.com). Create an iTunes account by clicking "File," then "Create Account." Enter your personal information, including billing info, which is kept on file; you won't be billed anything unless you make a purchase.

Upload the recording as a podcast by clicking the iTunes Store icon. Click "Choose genre," then select "Podcasts." Click "Publish a Podcast." Select the file, then enter the relevant information, such as a title. Apple will review the podcast and publish it once it is accepted; a notification will be emailed to the email address you used to register your iTunes account.
