Brie is a well known French cheese that often accompanies a traditional French meal. Brie, a main staple of appetizer cheese plates, comes in a wheel that is cut in wedges like a cake and spread on bread or crackers. Instructions

  1. Cutting Brie

    • 1

      Start in the center point of the wheel of brie and make a straight cut to the outside of the wheel.

      Make a small triangle with the knife tip on the center point of the first cut and make another cut to the outside of the wheel to form a wedge of brie cheese.

      Place the knife underneath the wedge and pull it from the cheese wheel.

    • 4

      If the cheese sticks to the knife, dip it in hot water before making another cut.

    • 5

      Continue to cut small wedges as if slicing a cake.

Tips & Warnings

  • Brie should be served room temperature.

  • The outer rind of the brie cheese wheel is edible.

  • Do not use a knife with a serrated blade.

  • Brie will keep in the refrigerator for no more than two weeks.
