How to Extreme Grocery Shop
Extreme grocery shopping saves you big money on shopping, but it can be time consuming. The trick is to match up the store's sales with coupons, then buy those items in bulk. Extreme couponers are usually proud of their stockpile at home, because they know they have on hand anything they need, and they have worked hard to save money. Most will usually cut their grocery bill at least in half.

1
Cut all the manufacturer's coupons out of your newspaper insert. Sort them by category. For instance, one pile for frozen food, one for pet food and one for cleaning supplies.
-
2
Read your store's sales ad. Compare the sales with the coupons that you have. When you get a match, write that item on your grocery list, and put that coupon in a separate pile.
-
-
3
Read the sales ad for deals that offer you money back, or store credit, when you purchase a collection of items. See if you have coupons for any of those items.
-
4
Place your coupons in a coupon holder with dividers for each section. This could be an envelope, a store bought coupon holder or a small recipe box with dividers.
-
5
Trade coupons that you have for items that you know you will never use for coupons that you will use. Trade with your friends, or people in online coupon trading forums. This is a good way to acquire more coupons that you can use.
-
6
Peruse online coupon sellers for coupons that match items that are on sale at the store. Buy at least eight copies of that coupon in order to stock up while it's a good price.
-
7
Go to the store and purchase the items that are on sale with the coupons even if you don't need that item that week. Buying it while the price is lower saves money because you'll have it when you need it.
-
8
Bring all your coupons with you to the store in case you see an unadvertised special. Check your coupons to see if you have any that match the unadvertised sales.
-
9
Check the newspapers for rebates. Often, the same items that are on sale will be on a rebate also, saving you extra money for buying a certain amount of those items. The rules for the rebates are set by the manufacturers.

Tips & Warnings
Go to the customer service desk to get rain checks for any items that are on sale and are out of stock. Later, when you get more coupons, you can use the rain check with the coupons to save extra money.
Save all your receipts, in case a rebate becomes available for items you recently purchased.
You cannot use more than one manufacturer's coupon on one item, but some stores will allow you to use a store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon on one item.
