How to Disable an AIM Account
If you have decided to stop using AOL Instant Messenger, you may want to disable your AIM account as well to prevent people from continuing to send messages. You may also want to disable an AIM account if you have created multiple screen names and want to use only one going forward. AOL has created an account cancellation page for AIM users. Use this page to permanently disable an AIM account you no longer intend to use.
