You will never have to buy a Love Me Knot bracelet again.

These days there is a new jewelry fad every year, from BFF necklaces to silicone bracelets. One current fad that is picking up is the Love Me Knot bracelets. Unfortunately, Love Me Knot bracelets made from metal can run around $75, and even lower-priced string versions can cost around $7. Luckily, for $7 you can buy enough material to make several string Love Me Knot bracelets at home.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure your wrist with the measuring tape. Add 4" to this initial measurement so there is enough string to tie off the bracelet when done.

    • 2

Slide the bead(s) onto the string. Hold the ends of the cord together so that the bead(s) fall directly into the center of the string. Wrap scotch tape around the string right next to the beads to hold them in place while you are working. Use just enough tape so that the beads cannot pass over it.

    • 3

Use the two ends of the string to make a circular shape. Continue wrapping the string back around itself until you are back up at the beads. The string should now look as if there are two bracelets wrapping around in a circle together. Ensure the circle shape is large enough for your wrist.

    • 4

Wrap tape around the two ends of string where they initially meet, which should be directly opposite the bead(s). You should now be able to set the bracelet down without it coming undone. Take the end of the string coming up on the left side of the bead(s) and continue wrapping it in a circle until it passes under the bead(s) and to the right side of them. Once complete, this end of the string should be a little past where it initially went through the holes in the beads. Wrap the cord three times around what should now be two strings running around in a circle together, about 1/4" from the right side of the beads. Pull the cord through the three loops and tighten, forming a knot around the two parallel strings. Repeat this with the string coming up on the right side of the bead(s) and knot it once it passes under the beads to the left side. It is okay for the strings to have a lot of slack coming out of the knots, you can remove this later.

    • 5

Slide either or both knots in either direction to tighten or loosen the Love Me Knot bracelet until you can fit your hand through. Then slide the knots so that the bracelet is as tight as you want it. Cut off all but about 1/4" of the additional string.

Tips & Warnings

  • Leather lacing is best for these bracelets, and nylon is a good second choice, but any type of string will do.
