How to Get a Rocketmail Mail Address

When Yahoo! acquired the free Web-mail service Rocketmail in 1997, it allowed current users to keep their email accounts but prevented new users from registering. In 2008, Yahoo! opened registration once again for users who want an email address with the Rocketmail domain name. Although the email addresses end with "@rocketmail.com," the service is identical to a regular Yahoo! email account.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the Yahoo! Mail homepage at mail.yahoo.com.

    • 2

      Click "Create New Account."

    • 3

Enter your desired Rocketmail username and select "Rocketmail.com" from the drop-down menu. Fill out the rest of the registration form with your name, date of birth, gender and ZIP code. You may enter an alternate email address and account security question to help you retrieve your login information if you choose; this information is optional.

    • 4

Click "Create My Account." You can begin using your Rocketmail email address immediately.

Tips & Warnings

  • Log in to your Rocketmail inbox from the Yahoo! Mail website. Enter your complete email address, including the domain name, in the Yahoo! ID box.
