How to Make Custom Content the Default for "The Sims 2"
Custom content in "The Sims 2" consists of objects, clothing, makeup and accessories that are not part of official game releases. Custom content is created by "Sims 2" players and is typically available for download from various Sims fan sites. Custom content is disabled by default. This content can be enabled so that it shows up in the game, but it will reset to disabled whenever you install a new expansion or stuff pack. Each time you install a new "Sims 2" expansion, you will have to enable custom content.

Load "The Sims 2" game by clicking on the desktop shortcut icon for the latest expansion or stuff pack you have installed on your computer.

Click on the gear icon on the bottom left side of the control panel to access the game options.

Set "Catalogs Display Custom Content" to the "On" position.

Close and exit the game to completely enable the new setting.

Restart "The Sims 2." Custom content should now be available in the game.

Tips & Warnings
Before making any changes to your game, you should back up all of your "Sims 2" game files.
If custom content is still disabled after following the above steps, delete cache files and reinstall your downloads folder, then restart the game.
