How to Block Freeze.com in Firefox

There is no internal way to block websites, such as Freeze.com, in Firefox without installing third-party plugins. However, you can edit the "Hosts" file on your computer, which will allow you to complete block access to any website in Firefox by adding a few lines of text. This is more reliable than a browser plugin, and does not require you to install extra software on your computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the "C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc" folder in Windows Explorer.

    • 2

Double-click the "Hosts" file. You are prompted to choose a program to open the file.

    • 3

Select "Wordpad" from the program list. A text document opens.

    • 4

Highlight the following text, right-click and select "Copy" from the menu:

      127.0.0.1 freeze.com

      127.0.0.1 www.freeze.com

    • 5

Right-click on a empty line at the bottom of the "Hosts" text file and select "Paste." This should place the text below the line that reads "127.0.0.1 localhost."

    • 6

Click the "Save" button and close the "Host" file. The website Freeze.com is now blocked on your Firefox browser.
