"Tap Town" is available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

"Tap Town" -- a free, downloadable game for the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch -- allows players to create an online metropolis. There are three types of buildings available for purchase in the game: residences, fun buildings and factories. Although factories are the only buildings that earn money, players must balance all three types to be successful at the game. Building residences and fun buildings such as ice cream parlors and stores attracts a larger population. The larger the population, the more factories the player may build.

Instructions

    • 1

Build factories and monitor them frequently. Factories are the best way to earn money in "Tap Town." When you first download the game, you will be given a starter town with one factory as well as 1,680 coins and 7 cash. Purchase a second factory, and start production in both factories immediately. Continue to build factories and purchase factory contracts as your population permits. Eventually, you should have enough factories to keep production running continuously. You also earn money and experience points for cleaning your factory, once a contract has been fulfilled.

    • 2

Increase your population. Even though building residences and fun buildings doesn't earn you any money, consider it a wise investment. You can't build more than two factories until your population increases to 1,000. After you've built your second factory and started production in both factories, build as many residences and fun buildings as you can afford. This will attract more people to your town and enable you to build more factories. As you play, keep an eye on the two numbers in your population indicator. If the actual number of people in your town equals the town's maximum population, it's time to build more residences.

    • 3

Level up. Early factory contracts have small payouts. As your experience level increases, so do the values of the contracts available in each factory. When you are more experienced, you also have access to better residences, fun buildings and factories. Purchasing fun buildings is a great way to earn experience points and keep your residents happy.

    • 4

Expand your town. A bigger town naturally leads a larger population as well as bigger and better factories. You will be able to expand your town as you level up.

    • 5

Visit neighbors. You can visit up to five neighbors a day, and you will receive five coins and one experience point for each neighbor you visit. Even small numbers like these can add up over time.

Tips & Warnings

  • When planning your town, build all factories in the same area, to make it easier to start contracts and collect your payouts. It is more difficult to monitor your factories if they're spread out all over the town.

  • Monitor your factories frequently so that you don't let a contract expire.
