How to Fix a Too-Salty Spaghetti Sauce
Spaghetti sauce doesn't have to be used for just pasta dishes. You can put the sauce in chili, beef stew, on top of hot dogs, on your beef brisket and on top of pork chops. Spaghetti sauce is economical because you can buy most of the ingredients for it on sale at the store, and you can freeze the leftover sauce for another day. But the sauce can be unpleasant when you put too much salt or spices in it. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Add sweet ingredients such as a sugar, balsamic vinegar, honey or a teaspoon of cane syrup. The sweetness balances out the saltiness in the sauce. Be sure not to put too much in the sauce because this could overpower the other ingredients.

2
Add potatoes or other chunky vegetables such as carrots, celery, zucchini and tomatoes. These vegetables will absorb the sauce and reduce the excess salt. When doing this, only add a small handful of the vegetables so the sauce won't turn into a stew.

Add liquids such as sodium-free chicken stock, milk or water to the sauce. Only add about 1 1/2 cups to your sauce because too much liquid will make the sauce soupy. And to add more flavor after putting the liquid in the sauce, use herbs such as oregano, thyme and basil.
