How to Connect Sugar Cubes for Sculptures

How to Connect Sugar Cubes for Sculptures thumbnail
Sugar cubes can be connected with royal icing for sculptures and models.

Sugar cubes can serve as building blocks for sculptures, architectural models or creatures of the imagination. The sparkly white sugar cubes are well suited for scale models of pyramids, castles and igloos. Use royal icing, which hardens into a firm white "cement," as the cube adhesive to connect the sugar cubes into stable structures. Royal icing, which is edible, is also the traditional glue used by gingerbread houses artists and wedding cake pastry chefs.

Press another sugar cube into the royal icing.

    • 5

Cover the royal icing with plastic wrap when not in use, as the icing will harden quickly.
