Instructions

    • 1

Draw a picture of a pumpkin. Use a pencil so that you can adjust the shape of your pumpkin easily, or use a pumpkin photograph in a book or coloring book to trace your own pumpkin. Consider tracing around a round object such as the lip of a bowl or a paper plate to get this circular shape as well.

    • 2

Collect materials to use in your collage that feature pumpkin shades such as orange, red and brown. For example, gather tissue paper and even construction paper in these colors. In addition, obtain hard food items you can add to your collage, such as orange pieces of candy, nuts that you paint orange and red or even actual pumpkin seeds. Also, look for cinnamon or ginger to sprinkle on the collage.

    • 3

Cut up sheets of construction paper so that the resulting pieces are tiny bits you can attach to your pumpkin drawing. Trim the decorative tissue paper into small pieces you also can use throughout your collage. In addition, look in magazines for objects that are orange or reddish that you can cut out to add to your collage. For instance, trim out an orange shirt in a clothing magazine or even a photograph of an orange in an orange juice advertisement.

    • 4

Put glue on one side of your tissue paper and construction paper pieces, and attach these pieces of decoration on various parts of your pumpkin outline. Add glue to your food items and magazine pieces and glue these items throughout the pumpkin picture as well. If you want to add a spice such as cinnamon to the pumpkin collage, put glue on the pumpkin outline in the areas you want to add the spice, and then sprinkle the spice on top of the glue.

    • 5

Allow the pumpkin collage to dry for several minutes. Outline the pumpkin collage with a black permanent marker to make the craft stand out. Consider drawing a stem on top of the pumpkin and painting this stem green or attaching green pieces of tissue paper/construction paper to it.
