How to Crochet a Danish Shawl
A Danish shawl is a traditional shoulder wrap worn by Danish women. The large triangle-shaped shawl is wrapped around the shoulders with the ends tied around the back at the waist, leaving the hands free. Knowing the basics of how to crochet is needed before attempting this Danish shawl, but the pattern is uncomplicated. The shawl should be crocheted in a worsted weight yarn, and a self-striping yarn would add some traditional stripes to the shawl.

Make a loop at the end of the wool skein. Insert the crochet hook and pull the strand through the loop to make a chain stitch. Continue making chain stitches until the length of chain is 66 inches long.

2
Double crochet in the third chain from the hook and in each subsequent chain - by wrapping the yarn around the hook, pulling the yarn strand through the chain, pulling a strand through the two loops and pulling another strand through the two remaining loops.
