Spell Gujarati words correctly by installing the language pack on your computer.

Gujarati is one of multiple languages widely used in India. If you regularly type Gujarati words into emails, documents or spreadsheets, you may want to use Gujarati characters so that you can spell the words correctly. Microsoft Windows comes with language packs for more than 100 languages, including Gujarati. To install the language pack for Gujarati, access the "Region and Language" settings in your computer's Control Panel.

      Click "Start," choose "Control Panel," then click "Clock, Language and Region."

      Click the "Region and Language" icon in the dialog window.

      Click the "Keyboards and Languages" tab in the Region and Language dialog box.

      Select "Change Keyboards," then click "Add" under "Installed Services."

      Scroll to and click "Gujarati (India)" in the list of available language packs.

      Select and enable the check box beside "Keyboard" in the text services list to install the Gujurati keyboard characters. Select and enable the check box beside "Ink Correction" to ensure your email or document Gujarati characters display and print correctly. Click "OK" to save the changes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click the language button on the right-hand side of the desktop taskbar when you need to change between English and Gujarati keyboards. The language button doesn't display by default, so activate it by right-clicking the desktop taskbar, choosing "Toolbars" from the drop-down menu, then clicking "Language Bar."
