How to Cancel My AIM Mail

Check your AIM Mail inbox before cancelling the account.

Many people have two or more email accounts to manage. If you have an AIM Mail account and no longer want to manage it, you can cancel the account. Cancelling the account gives you one less email account to check on a daily basis. The account is deactivated as soon as you complete the cancellation process. After the account is cancelled, you cannot retrieve any emails from the account.

Instructions

1. Access Cancel.aol.com in your Web browser. Log into your AIM account using your username and password.

2. Enter the answer for your security question and click "Continue."

3. Click "Manage My Services and Subscriptions."

4. Click "Cancel" and review the information regarding cancelling your AIM Mail account.

5. Click the drop-down menu and select a reason for cancelling your account.

6. Click "Cancel AOL," and a confirmation message is displayed on the next page.
