How to Crochet a Circular Shawl
Circular shawls are crocheted in rounds rather than rows, working from the center of the circle to the outer edges. Circular shawls can be crocheted in a variety of stitch patterns, ranging from simple single-crochet styles to intricate lace-bordered designs. Although not necessarily difficult to crochet, circular shawls do require the use of chain stitches, slip stitches, and crocheting in rounds. Whether you are a beginner who wants to try new crochet techniques or a more-experienced crocheter looking for a shawl pattern, this could be the project for you.

Make two more chain stitches. Join the chain stitches in a ring by sliding the hook through the first chain stitch, wrapping the yarn around the hook's tip, and pulling the hook through both stitches on the hook. You will have a small center ring for the center of the shawl.
