Opening and editing a file with a .WEBARCHIVE extension allows you to view and modify Web pages that someone saved by using the Safari Internet browser. Safari is the default Internet browser on Macs and is also available for download for Windows computers. It allows users to save a complete Web page and turn it into a .WEBARCHIVE file, which they can then view offline. A .WEBARCHIVE file contains both the HyperText Markup Language (HTML) code of the page and photos or sounds embedded into it. You can open and edit .WEBARCHIVE files in standard text editors.

Select "All Programs" and click on "Accessories." Then click on "Notepad" to launch the Notepad text editor.

Click on "File" and select "Open." Locate the .WEBARCHIVE file on your hard drive and double-click on it to open it. You can now edit the HTML file.
Mac
Step 1
Press the Control key on your keyboard and click on the .WEBARCHIVE file.
Step 2
Select "TextEdit" from the contextual menu. This will open the .WEBARCHIVE file in the TextEdit text editor.
Step 3
Edit the file by typing into the window.
