How to Get Rid of Yellow in Gray Hair With Hydrogen Peroxide
People with gray hair may start to notice that their hair will start to yellow. For a quick fix, you can wash your hair with blue- or purple-tinted shampoos -- these shampoos will tone down the yellow tones in your hair. Although this method works, it's not only not a permanent solution, but these shampoos can be a little pricey. Instead, you can use a hydrogen peroxide hair bleach to rid your hair of the yellow tones for weeks at a time. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1/8 cup hair conditioner
- Small bowl
- 1/8 cup 30-volume hydrogen peroxide
- Spoon
- Comb
- Plastic hair cap
- Shampoo
Instructions

Squirt 1/8 cup of your hair conditioner into a small bowl.

Add 1/8 cup of 30-volume hydrogen peroxide to the small bowl.

Stir the conditioner and peroxide together well using a spoon.

Apply the mixture to your hair, combing it through to ensure it's evenly distributed.

Fit a plastic hair cap over all your hair, and leave the mixture on your hair for 20 minutes.

Rinse your hair out, then shampoo and condition your hair as usual.
