Instructions

    • 1

Clean and pick up the house the night before. Staring at a pile of dirty dishes in the kitchen sink or a mess of clutter will detract from how much you enjoy the time spent at home.

    • 2

Light a candle or some incense with a pleasant scent. You could also opt to bake cookies to give the house a sweet aroma.

    • 3

Rent a favorite movie, watch episodes of a television show you are trying to catch up on or simply cuddle up with a book.

    • 4

Wear comfortable clothes around the house so you are fully relaxed.

    • 5

Plan for a home cooked meal beforehand by shopping for and prepping the necessary ingredients. You could even make the meal beforehand and freeze it so you can quickly pop in into the oven around meal time. You could also opt to treat yourself by ordering food to be delivered to your home.

    • 6

Plan some easy and enjoyable family activities for a shared day at home, such as board games or arts and crafts. If you are enjoying the day to yourself plan some pampering activities such as a long bubble bath.

    • 7

Refrain from checking work emails or taking work calls. Avoid picking up calls from anyone that will add stress to your day or take away substantial time from enjoying yourself at home.
