Adding volume or length to your hair can be easy with a claw clip ponytail extension. These extensions require very little time to put in place, but can give the appearance that you spent hours on your hair. They are ideal to use for special occasions, when you are short on time, or when you just want a change to your normal hairstyle.

• Elastic hair band

1. Purchase a claw clip extension at a local beauty store or order one online. You have several options when selecting the extension, but begin by matching the extension to your own hair color. Extensions come in several colors, lengths and hairstyles.

2. Use a hairbrush and elastic hair band to pull your own hair into a ponytail or bun. You can pull your hair into a high or low ponytail, depending on how long you want your hair to be.

3. Squeeze the top of the claw clip extension to open the clip. Place it over your own ponytail or bun. When you release the top of the clip, it should attach to your own hair.

4. Cover your own hair and the elastic band with the hair extension. The claw part of your hair extension should be covered and not showing. You can remove and readjust the clip as needed.
