How to Create Your Own Greek Jacket
Fraternity or sorority jackets can sometimes cost more than your books for a class. It will be more personal and less costly to create one yourself, rather than overspending at the campus gift shop. Greek life means dedicating part of yourself to a larger collective, but wearing a unique jacket is one way to maintain a sense of individuality as well. Set aside a couple of hours and gather your supplies.

1
Find a jacket that is a solid color. Purchase patches of your Greek letters or symbols that represent your sorority or fraternity. Find letters that are no bigger than 2 1/2 inches tall for the front. Find letters or patches that are at least 4 inches tall for the back.

2
Wash the jacket or have it dry-cleaned. Arrange the patches on the jacket. Trace around the patches using a tailor's pencil. Set your iron to a cotton setting, without steam.

Flip the patches over. Apply patch glue to the back edges. Let the glue dry for 10 minutes. Position the patches back inside the chalk marks. Place a thin cotton cloth over the patches. Press the iron onto each patch for 60 seconds. Flip the jacket inside out and iron on the opposite side of each patch for another 30 seconds.

4
Wet a washcloth with water. Wring it out so that it is damp, but not sopping wet. Wipe around the edges of each patch to remove the chalk lines. Hang the jacket up to dry.
