1. Fill out and complete your county's Homestead Declaration form. These forms are available at your county clerk's desk or online, via the county's Web page. Most forms must be filled out completely, with black ink. Homestead Declaration forms ask for information like marital status, homestead address and property information.

2. Sign the form in the presence of a notary public, and have the notary sign as well.

3. File your Homestead Declaration form with your local county clerk. Nevada county clerk offices verify and certify Homestead Declaration forms with local municipalities and government agencies.
