How to Decorate Trees With Pumpkins for Halloween
Pumpkins are one of the quintessential elements of the Halloween season. The orange gourds often are featured in decorative Halloween displays, as they not only represent the holiday, but they also create a brilliant pop of color. If you're creating a festive Halloween display in the front of your home, liven up the trees and make them a part of the decor by hanging pumpkins from them. Instead of using real pumpkins, opt for the artificial variety, which are easier to hang and can be used year after year. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Plastic Halloween pumpkin treat holders
- Clear filament
- Scissors
- Battery-operated tea lights (optional)

Gather a collection of plastic Halloween pumpkin treat holders. You can choose either the large variety that are used for trick-or-treating, the small variety that often are used to hold small amounts of candy or a combination of the two sizes.

Cut lengths of clear filament. Vary the lengths of the filament to alternate the heights at which the pumpkins hang from the trees.

Thread the filament through the handles of the pumpkins. Pull the filament so that it is an even length on either side of the handles.

Tie the ends of the filament on each pumpkin into a knot, creating a loop from which to hang the pumpkins.

Hang the filament loops over the branches of the tree or trees you intend to decorate. Spread the pumpkins out around the branches of the trees. Place some pumpkins on high branches and some pumpkins on low branches.

Tips & Warnings
Either leave the pumpkins as they are, or add further interest to the decorations by placing battery-operated tea lights inside of them to illuminate them at night.
