Because avocados are so delicate, they are often harvested while unripe and shipped to stores. You are supposed to take the avocados home and allow them to ripen in about a week. You can, however, speed up the ripening process with the help of a paper bag and fruits that give off ethylene gas, which will accelerate the avocados ripening. Does this Spark an idea?
