How to Get Duct Tape Glue Off of Car Paint
Duct tape is very strong and has many uses. The problem with it is the adhesive left over after you remove the duct tape. If duct tape ever ends up on your car's painted surface, remove it quickly or you will be left with adhesive on your car. Not many products are strong enough to remove duct tape adhesive, and some that are can also harm the paint or clear coat on your car. A clay bar is made to remove foreign objects on top of or imbedded in your car's paint without harming the paint at all.
Instructions

1
Wash the car or the area over the adhesive to remove all dirt particles and debris. You don't need to dry the area. Make sure the surface of the car is cool before proceeding.
-
2
Spray the adhesive and surrounding area with a lubricating spray from a clay bar kit, or use a quick detailer spray.
-
-
3
Rub a clay bar over the lubricated area. Rub the bar left and right, not up and down. Rub the clay bar across the surface, but don't put more than a small amount of pressure on the bar.
-
4
Fold the clay bar over to put a clean side of the bar against the surface. Spray more lubricating spray over the area and rub the clay over it again until all of the glue is gone.

Tips & Warnings
If you choose to clay bar the entire car, apply a coat of wax on the car afterward, because a clay bar removes most of the existing wax.
Don't use a dirty clay bar against the car's surface. If it falls in the dirt or becomes visibly dirty, fold it over and use a fresh side. Clay bars can be kneaded and folded several times.
