How to Make the Layout Text Be White
Microsoft Word 2010 features formatting options for your document's font or typeface. The "Font" buttons on the command ribbon offer a selection of editing tools, such as "Font Color." You can change the font color from the default black to another color to give your layout a customized look. Selecting white text with a colored background can help focus your viewer's attention on your message.

Open the Word document.

Click the "Home" tab on the command ribbon.

Click the arrow beside the "Font Color" button in the "Font" group. This button displays "A" and a colored underscore. A chart of color samples appears.

Click the white sample, the first square in the "Theme Colors" section. The chart disappears. The "Font Color" button shows the white underscore.

Type the text in the document.

Tips & Warnings
To change the background color for your white text, click the arrow next to the "Shading" command button in the "Paragraph" group on the "Home" tab. The "Shading" button displays an angled paint can. A chart of color samples appears.
Email messages can also contain white text.
Microsoft Outlook 2010 also includes a "Font Color" button in the "Basic Text" group on the "Message" tab.
