How to Move Linux to IPV6
Since the beginning of the 1980s, Internet Protocol version 4, or IPv4, has been the primary Internet connection standard. IPv4 works by connecting to a Domain Name System site URL and then accessing the site's Internet Protocol, or IP, address. This address is a numerical figure such as "145.283.23.11." This format for the IP is running out of available addresses however, and so a new standard is being introduced, albeit slowly. The new standard, IPv6, uses a different type of IP address using letters and numbers. To increase the protocol number to IPv6 in Linux, you must force the interface count up to the next level.
