How to Make the HTC Desire Louder

Increase playback volume to enjoy music and video on your HTC Desire smartphone.

The HTC Desire is a smartphone that can play video and audio files downloaded from the Internet or transferred from your personal computer. If you've already tried adjusting the playback sound level with the "Volume Up" button on the left-hand side of the HTC Desire, but want to pump up the volume to a higher level, you will need to adjust the device's settings.

Instructions

1. Press the "Menu" icon on the home screen.

2. Tap "Settings" in the list of menu options.

3. Select "Sound and Display" followed by "Media Volume." This displays the media file volume control slider on the phone's screen.

4. Drag the slider bar to the right to increase the volume. If you turn it up too far, decrease the volume again by moving the slider to the left.

5. Tap "OK" to save your volume preferences and close the Settings menu.

Tips & Warnings

• The volume button on the side of the phone adjusts media file playback only when the device is playing a media file. At all other times, pressing this button adjusts the phone's ringer volume.
