How to Close Widgets
When Apple released the Mac OS X version 10.4 Tiger operating system in 2005, it included a new technology called "Dashboard." Dashboard is an application that runs in the background and can be toggled by clicking the Dashboard icon in the dock, or by pressing the assigned hotkey, such as "F4." Dashboard works by keeping different applets, called widgets, open and ready for use. For example, you can have multiple sticky note reminders on the Dashboard display. Whenever you toggle on the Dashboard display, the widgets are displayed. You can close unneeded widgets so they are not displayed when Dashboard is.
