How to Move Your Favorites to Another PC in Firefox

Moving your list of favorite sites is useful when you would like to have access to your bookmarks on a different computer. The Library window in Firefox offers the ability to manage exporting and importing with the Import and Backup utility that comes included with the browser. Although your lists will not be synchronized between systems, this feature can be invaluable when you purchase a new or secondary computer.

  1. Export Favorites

      Open Firefox from the Start menu of the computer containing your current favorites.

      Press "Ctrl" and "Shift" and "B" simultaneously to open the "Library" window.

      Click "Import and Backup" on the upper, right corner of the Library window, then click "Backup" from the drop-down menu.

      Select a storage location, such as a network share, that can be accessed by your second PC or a removable storage device. Click "Save."

    Import Favorites

      Connect the medium containing your exported favorites list to your second PC.
