How to Roast Garlic on a Gas Grill
Beating the summer heat can be a bit of a challenge, particularly when it comes to cooking indoors. High temperatures and high levels of humidity don't have to spell endless dinners of hamburgers, hot dogs and other traditional barbecued fair. Dinnertime staples such as roasted garlic can be super simple to make on your grill. Get a little creative in your outdoor kitchen by tweaking recipes that would normally need the steady heat of your oven or stove top. Your family, stomach and taste buds will thank you. Preheat your gas grill on "High." Turn the heat to "Low" after 15 minutes. Keep the lid closed.

Slice the top off a head of garlic.

Place the garlic head on a piece of tinfoil large enough to wrap around the entire head.

Drizzle a bit of olive oil over the garlic and on the foil. Sprinkle it with a small amount of sea salt, if desired.

Wrap the garlic securely in the tinfoil and place it on the top rack of your grill away from the flame.

Close the grill lid and roast the garlic for 30 minutes or until the garlic is soft. Remove the garlic from the grill and use as desired.

Tips & Warnings
Peel the cloves of garlic and mix them with other vegetables that you want to roast. For example, if you intend to make a roasted-vegetable dip, wrap all of the vegetables in the foil and roast them together on the grill. Once they have cooked through, open the foil package over a bowl, mash the vegetables together and you are ready to go.
