Today, copper-plated brass jewelry is popular due to the decrease in cost compared to pure copper. Take care when cleaning-plated jewelry, since it's not quite as durable as the real thing.   • Worcestershire sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Rag

      Dab a bit of ketchup or Worcestershire sauce or ketchup onto a rag and rub it over the jewelry in circles.

      Combine 1 tsp. of salt, a squirt of lemon juice and 1 cup of water in a bowl. Dip a rag into the dish and polish the piece of jewelry.

      Wipe the ketchup, sauce or water mixture from the jewelry with a dry rag.
