How to Upload a Head Shot & Become a Model

Getting your headshot in front of modeling agencies is easier than ever in the Internet age. There are several agencies that will accept submissions of photographs online. Cutting through the clutter and deciding who the real viable companies are versus the talent houses, is a real issue. Getting a photo to a modeling agency doesn't always lead to being a model. It may be the first step down the modeling road, but becoming a model requires a great deal of hard work and dedication. It also requires a bit of luck.

Instructions

1. Visit one of the many websites that will accept online photos, For example: Elite Models, Ford modeling agency and IMG.

2. Download the application form. Complete the online application. Include all relevant information, such as: name, email, address, age, height, weight, hair color, eye color and body measurements.

3. Upload your photograph or photographs, according to the submission guidelines. Take new photographs if the agency you are submitting to has specific requests for the type they want.

4. Wait for the modeling agency to contact you so that can begin your modeling career.

Tips & Warnings

• Follow all submission guidelines on the application. This is very important.

• Don't submit a professionally taken headshot unless the modeling agency specifies that it is all right to do so.

• Do not submit photos that you have taken yourself. Have someone use a digital camera and take the photo for you.

• Only submit color photos.

• If you are only submitting one photo, do not smile in the photo. If submitting more than one, you can smile in one of the photos.

• Do not take photos while wearing sunglasses. Also, if you wear colored contacts, take the photo without your contacts. You can always submit a photo with the contacts in.

• Manage the amount of make-up that you put on your face. Not wearing any is fine. If you choose to wear make-up, only apply very little. Also remove any facial hair before you take your photo.

• Do not submit sexually suggestive photos. Keep you picture professional looking.
