How to Fold a Scarf to Wear
Now considered a fashion statement more than a necessity, scarves are available in an assortment of styles, materials, patterns and colors. With a variety of sizes and shapes, you can utilize your scarves to complement just about any outfit. Around your neck, head or waist, when folded correctly, scarves add an extra touch of class. Learning how to fold a scarf properly to be worn takes a little practice, but can be accomplished in no time, and the end result is worth the effort. Does this Spark an idea?

Wear the Scarf Around Your Neck

Lay a square scarf out on a flat surface. Fold the top right corner down so that the point meets at the center of the square. Fold the bottom left corner to meet the folded right corner. Fold the top right edge over once more. Fold the bottom left to match.

Fold the scarf in half and drape it behind your neck so that the two ends hang over one shoulder and the loop hangs over the other.

Take one of the free ends and bring it through the loop. Take the other free end and bring it over the top of the loop and then thread it through and under the bottom of the loop.

Adjust how tight you want the scarf to fit around your neck.
Wear the Scarf on Your Head

Lay out a square scarf on a flat surface. Fold the top right corner down so that the point meets at the center of the square. Fold the bottom left corner to meet the folded right corner. Fold the top right edge over once more. Fold the bottom left to match.

Hold both ends of the scarf tightly and place it on top of your head, making sure to keep the folded crease along your hairline.

Pull both ends down and back, underneath your hair. Tie the scarf so it is secure and tight on your head. Tie a second knot loosely and let the ends of the scarf flow freely over your shoulder.
Wear the Scarf Around Your Waist.

Lay a rectangular scarf on a flat surface. Fold it in half lengthwise. Grab both ends and center the scarf behind your waist.

Bring each end of the scarf around to your front. Loop one end of the scarf around the other. Loop the same end a second time.

Tuck the looped end over and through the scarf at your waist and let the two ends hang. Adjust the position by shifting it to one hip.
