If you continue to bother the same person with friend requests, she may block you.

Many Facebook users choose to hide the majority of their profile information from anyone who is not on their friend list. Before you can fully interact with these users and see the full content of their profiles, you must send a friend request and have it approved. While Facebook does not show you a comprehensive list of your current pending friend requests, returning to a user's profile will help you confirm that the request went through. Facebook automatically sends a notification to a user's homepage when you send a request.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Facebook account and type the name of the person to whom you sent a request in the search field at the top of the screen. Facebook will return your friends and pending friends that match your search terms first.

    • 2

Click on the pending friend's name in the search results to be directed to her profile. If you and the pending friend have a mutual friend, you may also get to her profile by clicking on her name on the mutual friend's profile.

    • 3

Scroll to the top of the screen and look immediately to the right of the pending friend's name. If there is an icon that says "Awaiting friend confirmation," the person has received your request but has yet to approve it. If you see an icon that says "Remove friend," she has approved your request and is now on your friend list.

Tips & Warnings

  • It is possible for someone to deny your friend request. In that case, you will see the "Add as friend" icon at the top of her profile, as if you had never sent a request.
