You will need a lot of seashells to cover a chandelier.

Seashells can bring out a coastal feel to any room in the house. Cover an old chandelier with seashells you pick from the beach yourself or purchase from a store. With just a few supplies, decorate a chandelier in just a few hours. Hang the finished chandelier in a dining room, bedroom or on a porch.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the chandelier with a damp rag. Remove all the dirt and cobwebs that may be lurking.

    • 2

Put hot glue on a small section of the chandelier and place a large seashell on it. Put another large seashell next to it if you have room. Continue to put glue and seashells on the chandelier until it is as covered as you can make it with the large shells.

    • 3

Put hot glue in the spaces between the large seashells. Put small seashells in these spaces until the entire chandelier is covered in seashells.

    • 4

Spray paint the chandelier white or any other color to match the room where you are going to put the chandelier. Do this outside or in a well-ventilated area. This step is optional; you can always leave the seashells their natural color.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a variety of different shells, or stick with only one design; the choice is up to you and what you have available.

  • Hot glue guns are very hot, so use caution.
