How to Graph a 2x2 Matrix

Graph a 2 by 2 matrix using templates for your qualitative data.

Creating, computing and graphing 2 by 2 matrices by hand can be a difficult task for the average person. However, graphs are excellent qualitative data tools. Luckily, there are programs that create the 2 by 2 matrices for us. Several templates are available for download to use on MS Excel and PowerPoint. After opening the templates, all you have to do is plug in your data numbers and titles. Let the power of your program do the rest of the work for you.

Instructions

BCG Matrix

1. Download BCG Matrix. Open Microsoft Excel. Click the "File" button and select the "Open" option. Navigate to and select the "2X2-Matrix.xls" file.

2. Click on the "Projects" worksheet tab on the bottom of the window. Change the titles, project names and data in the database.

3. Click on the "Chart 1" worksheet tab on the bottom of the window. You have now graphed a 2 by 2 matrix.

Matrix Chart

1. Download Matrix Chart Template. Open Microsoft PowerPoint. Click the "File" button and select the "Open" option. Navigate to and select the "TS101875492.potx" file.

2. Click on "Slides" tab on the left of the window. Choose "Slide 1" or "Slide 2" in the left menu.

3. Click the text boxes to highlight and change text. Change the titles, project names and data in the text boxes.
