How to Install a Template Guide on a Router

From time to time, woodworking projects call for what looks like intricate carvings. This work requires a router operating inside a template. Because a router base is flat, there's nothing to keep the router from tearing up both the work and the template. The solution is to install a template guide on the router. The template guide protrudes out of the bottom of the router base and rides against the template, preventing the router from tearing everything up. The template is inexpensive and typically takes less than 10 minutes to install.
